Caterpillar

The kids have been enjoying making Caterpillars. They love putting on antennas and boy is it cute to here Alyssa say antenna. They get so excited when their creations are complete. The thing I was most excited to see was after making our Caterpillars today, Ashlyn turned around and pointed to the caterpillars on the wall. I was happy to see she recognized that they were the same, it shows that they are really learning what Caterpillars are!

Clean, Bubble play!

After the kids planted their Greenhouses they played with bubbles in the sensory table. They got a little wetter than we expected them to, but they had a blast!

Making Greenhouses!

Jackson, Ashlyn, and Alyssa decorated 2 liter bottles and planted daisies inside, making Greenhouses! they scooped their own dirt inside, planted the seeds, and water the Greenhouse. Although we haven't seen anything grow inside it was a great experiance for the kids.

Wow! Its already June!!!

I can not believe it has been over a month since we have blogged last!!! I hope I can catch everyone up without overloading the page :) If you are looking for pics from our most recent pics to woodland Mound I am sorry to say that I forgot my memory card the day we went on the trip :( I was very disapointed. I do have some other pics I would like to share with you! I am also happy to say Baby Gavin has arrived! He will be starting in the playroom sometime next month!

Thursday!

We have had a great week and hopefully it does not rain on our Field Trip tomorrow. The kids have really enjoyed learning about weather this month. Josslin found a picture of lightning in a magazine today and called it Lightning, when before she called it Storm. the kids love group time and putting their own pictures in The Playroom Garden. Ashlyn does a great job at picking her picture out and Jackson is starting to read with his finger his name everyday. Today the kids did Butterfly paintings and loved it! Kendyl's face was so amazed and she even gasped when she saw her picture after opening up the paper. Oh and Alyssa went poopy on the potty last night for Mom and Dad!!! Yepppeeee Alyssa!

3rd Week of April

This week was a really fun week in the playroom! We read lots of fun books including cloudy with a chance of meatballs! We had a fun movie day where all the kids wore their pajamas and we watched the movie Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs. All the kids were so adorable in their pj's. We also had lots of fun art projects this week like each kid painted a starry night sky. This week was another fun sun filled week! All the kids seem to love springtime!

2nd Week of April

This past week we did lots of fun spring activities in the playroom. We did lots of art projects that the kids all really enjoyed. On Monday we made cloud art with cotton balls and glue and later on in the week we made suns with construction paper and added them to our clouds. Each day we read a book about spring and sang spring songs that helped the kids learn what happens in spring with the weather. Now that its warm outside we have been spending time outside each day and the kids get really excited to go outside and play. Many times they don't want to come back inside. We will be doing more fun art projects each week and you can now see what our schedule is for each day by reading the new poster that contains the newsletter and agenda for each week!

What a wonderful warm spring day!!!

The kids are enjoying this month new theme 'Weather'. They love dressing up in rain ponchos and having picnics in the Playroom. They really enjoy the weather chart that helps us predict what the weather will be like tomorrow. They love using the new chart "Who is in the Playroom Garden today?". It has a photo of each child on a flower and they can place their photo in the Garden. I will be sure to post photos of it soon.

Today we played in the water table outside and ate Popsicles. The kids had a blast! Here are a few photos!

FRIDAY!!!!

Today the children made snow men out of foam doe. Josslin had requested this morning to play with snow, Foam doe is the closest to snow we could find :) The kids had a blast!

The children also painted with paint dots, together they created a beautiful picture!

Congrats to Alyssa for going on the potty! What a big Girl!!!!

THURSDAY!

This rainy day is really making us miss our outside time! we still enjoyed watching the rain outside and talking about it. We painted with paint rollers today that had little house prints on them. We sang 'If your Happy and You Know It'. The girls ran around the room singing..."If your happy and you know it say Amen!" It was so cute! The room has really enjoyed listening to the chipmunks Sqeakal C.D. The Construction dramatic play area is still a hit! Wednesday! Jan. 20,2010

Today we have continued our Home Improvement Theme. Ashlyn loves dressing up in the Construction Hat and Vest. Josslin looks adorable when she wears the safety goggles. Alyssa is more interested in books lately, especially the touch and feel books. Kendyl like the magnets so much, we have to pull them out of the room for half the day so she will play with other things. Ashlyn has been walking 4 steps at a time and Kendyl is right behind her! Please send in your family pictures if you haven't already. We would also like to put up pictures of our homes, since we are talking about Houses. We had a great Wednesday!

Friday! Another Snow Day....

The children once again played with snow and had a blast! We also paimted snow pictures today. They used pipecleaners, stamps, and rollers to make different snowflakes. We also talked about Magnets today. The children discovered what things have iron and what things don't. Have a great weekend!

Thursday Snow Day!

We enjoyed looking at the snow outside today and enjoyed plaing with it inside! We fisrt decided to decorate a gingerbread house, but I added too much water so our candy would not stick. There was ising left on the table so when we brought the snpw in it helped very well with clean up. The girls mixed the icing and snow and said it was ice cream, I thought that was verey clever! We also sang 'One Little, Two Little Snowflakes'. WE also read the book 'A Snowy Night'
